Reiki Masters
Phyllis Kates and Frank Thompson are Reiki Masters in the lineage of John Harvey Gray. They share the same teaching philosophy; both trained with Suzanne Parnell at the Ajna Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas; and are among the founders of the Traditional Reiki Institute, Inc. (TRI). Frank serves as President.

Phyllis J. Kates
M.A., RM

Before moving to Arkansas in 1993, Phyllis taught communication classes at Purdue University, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She has more than 30 years experience as an educator and writer. Phyllis has experience as a case manager for clients and a trainer of case managers for practitioners. Phyllis' husband, their son, daughter, granddaughter, and niece, are Second Degree Reiki Practitioners.

"My husband, Don recently transitioned and works with us from the other side."

Phyllis is a member of the Sharp County Hospital Foundation Board and is actively working with the group to build a hospital in Sharp County, Arkansas.

Believing that you must heal yourself before healing others, her classes emphasize the self-healing aspects of Reiki, in addition to teaching students how to give treatments to others.
